Cleanser. Exfoliant. Toner. Serum. Cream. Sun Care - and maybe a Mask.

If you have the time.
EXTRAS.jpg

While there is certainly nothing wrong with this skin care routine - there are so many other goodies out there to make your skin look and feel better and even save you time. If the sheer amount of skincare products available feels intimidating, here is a list of some of the most popular and effective add-ons to your skincare routine available from your skin care professional.

Essences.

With their roots in wildly popular Korean skin care and with a lower molecular weight than a serum - essences fall squarely between a toner and a serum in your skin care routine. Packed with nourishing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, they deeply hydrate and nourish your skin and act as a primer for your serums and creams.

How to use: an essence can be applied with a cotton pad like a toner or splashed directly onto your skin. Try it in: Luzern L’Essentials Hydrating Essence, Mary Cohr Universal Vital Essence or Payot Hydra 24+ Hydrating Essence.

Facial Mists.

Hydrate. Protect. Set. If Essences are the primer - consider facial mists the sealant of your skin care routine. Typically applied after your serums and creams, facial mists offer an extra layer of protection against external aggressors such as environmental pollution and help seal in hydration to avoid loss of moisture (and every skin type needs more hydration). Finally, mists give you skin an extra boost of freshness and help set make up.

How to use: mist on skin after applying all other skin care and make up and any time during the day when you need to refresh and rehydrate. Try it in: Luzern L’Essentials Firming Facial Mist, Mary Cohr Hydrosmose Mist or Payot My Payot Mist.

Night Masks.

Can’t find 15 minutes during the day to sit back with a mask on your face? No problem! Night masks are a no-fuss facial in a jar. A night mask is essentially an ultra concentrated skin cream and treatment that works double duty as you sleep. Using a night mask a few times a week will have you waking up with dewy, plumped, and refreshed skin for that’Il just came from the spa’ look and feel.

How to use: use in lieu of your regular night cream - with or without your serums. Apply a generous amount to face, neck and décolleté and allow to absorb before hitting your pillow. Try it in: Luzern La Nuit Hydra Enzyme Mask or Mary Cohr Age Signes Night Refill (NEW!).

Cures.

Skin looking a little lacklustre? Cures are a short term but intensive facial treatment that target a particular skin concern over a few days or weeks. With a serum-like texture for fast absorption, cures are a no-fuss skin perfector ideal for use to give your skin an extra glow during the change of seasons, leading up to a big event or to help soothe hormonal skin.

How to use: preferably at night, according to package directions and before your regular night cream - in lieu of your serums. Try it in: Mary Cohr SWhite Intense Brightening Serum, Payot My Period La Cure or My Payot New Glow.

Eye Masks.

Face masks are great for targeting specific skin problems, but the instructions are always clear: avoid eye area. Eye masks are specific to the gentle eye area and treat issues particular to this delicate area such as puffiness, dark circles, and fatigue in addition to signs of aging - without irritating this sensitive zone.

How to use: after cleansing skin and removing eye make up, according to package directions. Try it in: Luzern La Nuit Eye Mask, Mary Cohr Eye Repair Masks, Payot RoseLift Collagène Eye Patches.

Neck & Décolleté Treatments.

What they do: Did you ever notice when you get a facial that your aesthetician applies treatments and creams to your neck and décolleté as well? We spend so much time taking care of our face but often neglect the skin directly below it. Yet-our neck and décolleté area is thinner, has less fatty tissue and fewer sebaceous glands than our face- which leaves this area even more prone to signs of aging. A cream specific to your neck and décolleté area favorizes this delicate area to fight specific signs of aging such as loss of firmness and discolouration.

How to use: use at night. Massage gently into skin using upwards movements. Try it in: Luzern La Nuit Neck and Décolleté, Mary Cohr New Youth Neck and Décolleté or Payot Suprême Jeunesse Neck and Décolleté.

Spot Treatments.

When you need a little extra something- but not all over- spot treatments are there for you. Whether you need to instantly reduce the appearance of fine lines, treat a blemish, or reduce redness and irritation, spot treatments will give you instant results and treat the issue all at once.
